Based in Rochester, NY, Martha is a visual artist with a focus on the artists book form as an outlet for painting and drawing, photography, 2- and 3-D collage and her love of typography. She earned a Certificate from Graphic Careers and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Book Arts from Empire State College.
Martha's work has appeared in shows nationally and locally for over 25 years. Highlights include the Finger Lakes Exhibition at the Memorial Art Gallery, the Lexington Art League in Kentucky, the Target Gallery in Virginia, Marin County MoCa in California, the Union Street Gallery in Chicago and the Impact Gallery in Buffalo. Distinctive honors include the Jentel Artist Residency Program, a photography grant from the Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts, the Ida Abrams Louis Award (58th Finger Lakes Exhibition), two-time Best in Show at the Rochester Public Market Artists Row, Honorable Mention in the 2019 Art of the Book Show at the Rochester Public Library, and three-time 1099 Award-winner for the Artists in Cellophane Project. For five years running, Martha was a featured Artist of the Month in the Art Department of the Downtown Rochester Library.
Since 2008, Martha's been a guest Artist in Residence instructor in Book Arts at Fairport High School. She also judges a variety of local art and photography competitions.
